Merchants of Grindletown

Here you will information and references to the local and visiting Merchant Companies that operate in Grindletown. There are two types of merchant companies operating here, firtstly, there are the companies that are located outside of Grindletown that purchase goods from the townspeople and then export them to other cities throughout the moonsea and surrounding areas.

Secondly, there are other companies situated within Grindletown that import goods from surrounding cities, which are not produced here in town and sell them directly to the townspeople and local businesses.

 

Merchant Companies- Exporting Goods

Grindletown exports Armor and Weapons, Fruit and Vegetables, Grain, ore, seafood silverware and gems, to other towns and cities through a number of local Merchant and Trading Companies. They in turn travel around the Moonsea and surrounding areas and sell or trade these goods wherever they can obtain a considerable profit. The major Merchant Trading Companies exporting goods from Grindletown include Elysian Merchant Charter, Cotterell Industries, Bendarn's Grocer Goods Emporium, Sangrel Ores, Grindletown Seafood, Travett's Silver & Gems & Cheveron's Fine Clothing.

 

Armor/Weapons

The Elysian Merchant Charter purchases armor produced at Thorlack's Weapons & Armor and exports it to other towns and cities. The majority of these customers are located in Zhentil Keep, Mulmaster, Phlan and Hillsfar. Gabharra Vallatec is the owner of this localised merchant company that specialises in the buying and selling of armor and weapons.

 

Fruit/Vegetables

A number of the local Orchards sell their fruit to Bendarn's Grocery Goods Emporium. This Merchant Company is run and owned by Brendarn Craddack who exports all manner of fruit and vegetables to Mulmaster and other towns and cities.

 

Grain

Grain in Grindletown is grown at a wheat and barley farm on the outskirts of Grindletown. The farm is owned by Lord Clancy Cotterell, the only family of noble blood living in Grindletown. Lord Cotterell owns and runs the only company in town that exports grain and barley, Cotterell Industries. Thus he not only has the only farm producing grain and barley, he also owns the only merchant company that exports these products to other cities. He also sells some of his product to the local brewery to be made into beer.

 

Ore

Sangrel Ore is the local Merchant Company that deals in exporting ores from the mines here in Grindletown to towns and cities throughout the Realms. It is run by two Dwarven brothers, Sansimion & Grelic. This Merchant Company exports the ore extracted from the local mines and sells it to other towns and cities.

 

Seafood

The Grindletown Seafood Company buys seafood caught by the local fishermen and exports this well sort after product inland to other towns and cities. This company is run and owned by a group of local fishermen. Their leader, Belliss Kenar, is a charismatic man who handles all of the fisherman's business dealings on their behalf.

 

Silverware & Gems

Uncut gems, rings, necklaces and silverware from the local jewellery are purchased by Travett's Silver & Gems. This Trading company is owned by Julian Travett who exports these items to towns and cities such as Hillsfar, Melvaunt and Mulmaster.

 

Merchant Companies- Importing Goods

Grindletown imports alcohol, cheese, glass products, leather products, meats, spices, textiles and timber through a number of local Merchant Companies. These Companies travel to other cities to purchase goods that are not produced locally. They then transport them back to Grindletown and sell them to the local businesses and townspeople. The main company's that import goods into Grindletown include Garnsable's Fine Wine & Beer, Alyssia's Exotic Spices, Cheveron's Fine Clothing from Hillsfar.

 

Alcholol

Garnsable's Fine Wine & Beer is a Merchant Company that exports wine from Mulmaster and imports it into Grindletown. Garn Sable, a Dwarf from a small village outside of Mulmaster sells his wine and beer to Zara's Tavern and on ocassion purchases alchohol from Gefion's Brewery to take back with him to his home town.

 

Cheese

There are no major trading companies that specifically sell cheese to Grindletown residents and businesses. However there are a number of wholesale goods distributors that deliever cheese and other food stuffs to the area.

 

Glass Products

Glass products are imported into town by the Melvaunt Glass Trading Coaster.

 

Leather Products

Rhyadd's & Leather are representatives from Elm Wood who transport unprocessed animal hides, leather armor and other leather related goods to Grindletown for sale or trade.

 

Meats

Trekeden Coaster travel all of the way from Harrowdale to trade meats of all discriptions including red and white meats and is especially popular for all forms of their foul.

 

Spices

Alyssia's Exotic Spices, travel to Grindletown from Elventree to trade exotic spices with the local towns people and businesses.

 

Textiles

A textile merchant caravan called Cheveron's Fine Clothing travels from Hillsfar to sell or trade in fine cloth, fur garmets and other textiles.

 

Timber

Harrowdale Lumber Company transport timber from Harrowdale via barge for trade in Grindletown. Grindletown has a short supply of building timber and Mayor Grindle purchases a great deal of lumber to build new buildings.
